Angel Di Maria could be set for an unlikely Premier League return — with Tottenham monitoring his availability.

Argentinian star Di Maria (pictured above), 32, endured a torrid 12-month stay at Manchester United before departing for Paris Saint-Germain in August 2015.

He has flourished in the French capital, helping Les Parisiens to four Ligue 1 titles to date — but his contract is up at the end of the season.

And French outlet L’Equipe (via talkSPORT) claim Spurs boss Jose Mourinho hopes to take advantage of the situation.

Mourinho worked with Di Maria for three years at Real Madrid and would love to have the experienced playmaker in North London.

Business has long been on the cards between the two clubs as PSG still hope to land unsettled Spurs midfielder Dele Alli.

Alli, 24, has been frozen out this season and has not started a Premier League game since the 1-0 defeat to Everton on the opening day, when he was hooked at half-time.

The French champions have made no secret of their desire to land the England international and The Mirror believe a loan move is still possible this month.

According to the same report, Spurs could target Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus as a direct replacement for Alli.

Rising star Neuhaus, 23, has established himself as a regular at the Bundesliga side and is also on the radar of both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Frank Lampard’s departure from Stamford Bridge could yet spark late transfer action at Chelsea.

According to German outlet SportBILD, new Blues boss Thomas Tuchel will make RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano his top target.

The highly-rated central defender, 22, was high on Tuchel’s list when he was PSG boss and he is expected to move for him again — though a summer swoop is most likely.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail claim a new striker is still considered a priority and Chelsea’s strong interest in Dortmund star Erling Haaland remains.

One man less likely to arrive at Stamford Bridge is Declan Rice.

Now that Lampard has been shown the door, interest in the West Ham midfielder is widely reported to have cooled.

Everton are hopeful of landing Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee but face competition from Serie A side Parma.

Sky Sports Germany report Bayern have received offers from both clubs for the Dutch forward and will make a decision in the coming days.

Zirkzee, 19, has made three substitute appearances in the Bundesliga this term but is now deemed surplus to requirements and Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bring him to Goodison Park.
